A little personal update from Neil

A lot of people have been asking about Johanna and why she has not been in the store or on social media over the last few months. I’m going to try and share as much as possible with you but honestly this past year has been physically, emotionally, and financially challenging for our family.

You know Johanna doesn’t just dream to dream; she dreams to makes things happen...

In November 2024, we purchased another property, a small farm and moved again, adding our lake house to our Airbnbs. Unfortunately, after a year living at the farm, we discovered significant mold in the house at the farm. Our family had unknowingly been exposed during that time, and Johanna was affected the most.

Beginning last Summer, she started to show symptoms — fatigue, joint pain, brain fog, memory loss, depression, chest tightness, and other health concerns that progressively worsened, but seemed like stress and burnout. By early Fall, her condition had declined to the point that she was unable to work. During a trip to Texas to our Round Top store, she became so ill she had to fly home after just a few days.

After visiting many specialists at Mayo Rochester, we still had no answers. Eventually, further testing revealed toxic mold exposure, Lymes and co-infections. Testing of our house at the farm confirmed elevated mold levels.

In December we moved back into our lake house to remove our family from mold exposure. Johanna is now under the care of a holistic doctor and is beginning to see improvement, though recovery is expected to take 12–24 months.
