Antique Pressed Glass Compote features a distinctive raised, geometric pattern band of sharp diamond "pillows" nested within framed circular outlines that encircle the lower portion of the bowl. This decorative pedestal bowl is typically used for serving candy or desserts. This style represents classic Victorian-era pressed table glass, Measures approximately 8.75 inches in diameter by 7.75 inches high
It is an authentic piece of Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) manufactured by the Model Flint Glass Company (operated in Findlay, Ohio and Albany, Indiana). It is their No. 857 pattern, officially named "Spokane", but also widely known to collectors by the names "Midway" or "Pillow Encircled". Originally introduced in 1889.
