Antique Sewing Basket

Antique Wicker Sewing Basket dating to 1890-1920. The basket is woven with braided seagrass or wicker. The interior features a classic tufted olive green satin or silk lining with padded diamond quilting and fabric buttons. The lid includes a central fabric strap meant to hold small sewing tools, needles or a thimble. Sewing baskets of this specific style were manufactured in Germany and France. The condition of the basket shows tearing and deterioration from age and use.
